The couriers on the journey did what they often do and mangled the packaging but the contents arrived unscathed. The machine was easy to assemble and, once charged, was quickly put to use to edge cut our small but vigorous lawn. The cutters seemed to cope well with the thick grass but it will take a little time to learn how to keep them from digging into the lawn when pushing the unit on its wheels. The latter fell off on the first trial so a bit of Gorilla Glue was applied. Mistake! This simple glued everything solid. Instead a piece of M5 round bar was cut to length, the wheels drilled through at 5.5mm and the bar tapped at each end for M5 Nylock nuts. Result is free running and firmly fixed wheels. This is clearly not a top of the range product but rather one designed to a lower price for the DIY user. That is exactly what I was seeking. I have a small workshop that includes a number of similarly ‘pitched’ tools that get used occasionally but are essential for cerain tasks. This cutter will join them and our lawn will be kept in much better condition. I was pleased to see that the instructions include a mention of replacement parts. That means for any buyer who is moderately competent with equipment, the machine should have a decently long life. Don’t dither, buy it!
